While some jurisdictions may allow the use of certain substances for medicinal purposes, marijuana, including products containing THC, remains illegal under Surinamese law. As such, it is imperative that candidates have not used marijuana or any THC-containing products within 90 days prior to submitting their application, or at any time thereafter. This policy applies to both recreational and medicinal marijuana, including prescription use.

Furthermore, candidates must not have used any illegal drugs or engaged in the misuse of prescription drugs within one year prior to applying or at any point during the hiring process.
